Car seats and boosters provide protection for infants and children in the case of an accident, yet car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages one to thirteen. Buckling up is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself and your passengers in a crash. It is extremely important to make sure all children riding in your care are properly secured before every trip.

If you’re not confident in how to properly secure your child in a safety seat, or are in need of a car seat, contact your local CHP Area Office and ask to speak with a  child passenger safety technician.
