Ever wanted to pet a cow? Or touch a pig’s nose? Come to the Junior Livestock Show July 13-16 and see these and other livestock animals in person. Youth from Inyo, Mono, and Alpine Counties, as well as parts of Western Nevada come together to compete in the field of Agriculture.

Local members of 4-H and FFA will be competing in market classes and showmanship classes with animals that they have raised. Part of their project work includes learning the life cycle of the animal, how to raise an animal that will be consumed as food, and animal handling techniques.

This week long event is open to the public, and is free of charge.  Shows begin at 8:00 am on Wednesday, and continue until Friday evening at 6:00pm. Livestock animals that will be at the show include: Beef cattle, pigs, lambs, goats, turkeys, chickens, and rabbits. Hope to see you there!
